Reasoning

Kilovolt Peak (kVp)

Tube voltage. Lower kVp (e.g., 100, 80) increases the brightness of iodine, allowing for a reduced contrast dose. Higher kVp is used for larger patients to reduce noise.

Tubing Volume

The volume of the injector tubing. Setting the Saline Chaser to match this volume ensures all contrast is flushed into the patient, maximizing efficiency.

MRI Agent Type

Macrocyclic: Newer agents where the gadolinium ion is held securely in a molecular cage. Much lower risk of NSF.
Linear: Older agents with a less stable, chain-like structure. Higher risk of gadolinium release and NSF, especially in patients with low eGFR.

CV to eGFR Ratio Calculator

A measure of renal risk. A higher ratio increases the risk of Contrast-Induced Nephropathy (CIN). You select the safety threshold you want to be warned about.
